The Silversword is a flower that only blooms at the top of Haleakala. This flower is endangered so there are not too many, especially in the more frequented areas of the crater. While we were at the top this one was in the "bud" stage.
There was not one blooming on this particular day so I found a picture of one because it is a cool looking flower.
